I hate my mom. This comes up often enough, surprisingly, and almost every time someone in the vicinity will scoff and say “you only have one”, “oh come on, she can't be that bad", “I'm sure she would be thrilled to hear that", and many other rando. Most of us have read the iconic children's book "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch. Love it or hate it, it's a book that most of us either grew up with or read to our children.

While the roots of ambivalence can be traced back to breast-feeding in the oral stage, it was re-inforced during toilet-training as well. Freudian followers such as Karl Abraham and Erik H. Erikson . There is, of course, no one reason why a mother may dislike her child, but there are some solid generalizations we can consider. Angie was fortunate enough to have in her life her nanny, Liz Santiago. This was the woman who ended up giving her unconditional love and affection, and who would become the only mother she ever had.

As Angie grew older, she realized that she was the only person in that household of a different skin : In this provocative book, Rozsika Parker argues that these ambivalent feelings not only are common but can actually have a creative impact on mothering.

I HATED the mother in the book!!!!. She acted like she didn't love Anna and I was never really sure if she did or not. As far as she was concerned, she had 1 daughter. She totally ignored her other 2 children and I really felt sorry for the boy. He was so lost and everything he was doing just screamed for his parents to see, and love him.

With Mothers Who Can't Love: A Healing Guide for Daughters, Susan Forward, Ph.D., author of the smash #1 bestseller Toxic Parents, offers a powerful look at the devastating impact unloving mothers have on their daughters—and provides clear, effective techniques for overcoming that painful legacy/5().

Real life: "I hate being a mother. I fantasise about abandoning my family and starting a new life somewhere people don't need me." I love my daughter. I read Jane Eyre and it took me to another world.

My mom caught me reading the book and crying and told me she did not want me reading a book that made me so emotional that I would cry.

I think she thought it was silly. Although my book selections have changed over the years, I still love Jane Eyre. Jeeze, even Harry Potter is centrically about a mother’s love. The truth is, not every woman who gives birth is a mother.

Society hasn’t fully come to terms with the notion of shitty parents, particularly moms. People usually shrug off such claims with, “But she’s your mother, you should still love her.”. Use our LoveBook Creator to build your list of reasons why you love someone.

Jacob Have I Loved is a novel by Katherine Paterson that won the Newbery Medal. The story takes place during the early s on the small, fictional island of Rass in the Chesapeake Bay. Life on the island revolves around fundamentalist religion, seasonal fishing for crabs and oysters, and the often fulfilling lives of those who "follow /5.

Domini Taylor's novel of a mother's obsessive love, twisted notions of loyalty, and the fight for control over the lives of the people around her (family and friends)comes alive here in the creepiest, most chilling ways imaginable/5.

When I was in second or third grade, my mother gave me a diary. She explained that it was for my private thoughts. At one point, I wrote in huge letters, one word to a page, "I. HATE. MOTHER!". Laura: Untouchable: A Bully Romance by Sam Mariano, is a deliciously dark bully romance. Easily my top read of.

The book begins with a sexual assault in a classroom so be warned and this theme of non-consent carries through most of the book.

The main character, Carter, is aware that he is a genuinely bad guy but doesn’t care. Zoey’s. Jacob Have I Loved is a coming of age novel for teenagers and young adults by Katherine was published by Crowell in and it won the annual Newbery Medal the following year.

I moved in with the friend my mother hated. My mother tried desperately to have me move back home, she was persistent with it for over a year, before she just gave up. Love them.
